Safety Classification and Learning (SCL) Model

Part of the Energy-Based Safety series, discover a new technique to classify and learn from safety events.

Improve your process to classify and learn from safety incidents and safety success

With Proven Results

Part of the energy-based safety series, learn about the new Safety Classification and Learning (SCL) Model to consistently classify safety incidents and observations, evaluate the potential for serious injury or fatality, and prioritize learning opportunities.

Use research and field-validated tools and concepts to improve your safety program. The SCL model will help you define safety incidents and success and prioritize learning opportunities to improve your safety program.

Classify Hazards and Incidents to Improve Safety Learning

Dr. Hallowell's delivery of energy-based hazard recognition is creative, engaging, and interesting. I left the session understanding how to enhance hazard recognition and risk assessment at the front line.
Jenny Bailey Director of Safety and Health • Xcel Energy
The energy-based safety approach has been transformational for our business. You can tell when it’s working. You hear the conversation change in the workplace, your data trending re-focuses to potential severity, and the frequency of potential serious injuries and fatalities (P-SIF) are reduced. That’s what we’ve observed. The delivery of the material is second to none. Our team quickly understood the process and recognized the benefit. Few programs are operationalized to this extent.
Mike Court Sr. Vice President of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality • Graham Construction
The energy-based approach is backed by science, yet the theory is so easy to understand. Once the initial training to leadership and field crews has been done, the change in conversations is immediately evident… from the front lines to the executive boardrooms. The delivery of the material is also engaging and generates overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants. After 30 years of being involved in the safety field, I believe the energy method will be a game-changer.”

Great Course

From Kevin Smith

I believe this is very valuable information and a transformative way to approach safety. The instructor communicated the content very well.

We should all be doing this.

From Jeremy Hakes

This is how we make our industry better. This is how we kill fewer people every year. This is how we help our people identify risk better, and how we make keep our people going home safely every ...
